The Opportunity

Front-end web development, also known as client-side development is the practice of producing HTML, CSS and JavaScript for a website or Web Application so that a user can see and interact with them directly.

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

 

Responsibilities include:

· Development of websites and applications through all phases of the development life cycle (including planning, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining)

· Working with project managers using traditional and Agile methodologies to plan and execute development

· A solid grasp of fundamental algorithms and applications Strong design and coding skills in Typescript/JavaScript, and/or React

· Firm understanding of software development principles, capabilities and limitations of platforms, including first-time user experience, battery life, connectivity issues, and perceived performance

· Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team

· Hands on experience with JavaScript frameworks

· Knowledge of Accessibility and Web Standards

· Experience with both Responsive and Adaptive Web Design

· Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, yarn, etc.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality web applications using Java Spring Boot and ReactJS.
  • Build and enhance REST APIs, microservices, and front-end components.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web applications.
  • Deploy and support applications across cloud and containerized environments such as Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or Apigee.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support activities.
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines for application deployments and release management.
  • Monitor and debug applications using tools such as Splunk and logging frameworks.
  • Ensure secure application development practices, including integration with HashiCorp Vault.
  • Support ongoing enhancements, bug fixes, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Work effectively in a permanent night shift schedule within a hybrid setup.

What you'll bring

  • Strong experience in Core Java including OOP concepts, Collections, IO, JDBC, Threads, and Generics.
  • Hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Framework, and Spring Batch.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Practical experience with ReactJS (3+ years preferred) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Webpack, Babel, NPM, and Yarn.
  • Experience with cloud deployment platforms such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or Apigee.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with JUnit, API testing, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a permanent night shift and hybrid work environment.
