The Opportunity

An experienced Azure/AWS Cloud Application Architect/Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Java and cloud-native application development. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing scalable applications on AWS while working closely with development, DevOps, and business teams. The ideal candidate should possess deep technical knowledge of Azure/AWS services, cloud architecture patterns, microservices, DevOps, and modern Java frameworks and be capable of translating business requirements into technical solutions, contributing to architecture decisions, and actively participating in software development using modern Java technologies.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Design

  • Define end-to-end cloud architecture solutions on Microsoft Azure/AWS.
  • Design cloud-native, event-driven, and microservices-based applications.
  • Lead application modernization and migration initiatives from on-premise to Azure/AWS.
  • Create architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps.
  • Drive solution architecture reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Define non-functional requirements including scalability, security, availability, and performance.

Hands-on Development

  • Actively participate in coding, code reviews, and technical implementation.
  • Develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
  • Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and cloud platform issues.
  • Build reusable frameworks, accelerators, and cloud-native components.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Mentor Developers, and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and enterprise architects.
  • Lead technical estimation, solution reviews, and architecture governance.

Experience

  • 12+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years of Azure/AWS Cloud architecture and implementation experience.
  • Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale cloud transformation programs.

What you'll bring

    • 12+ years of software development experience with strong Java expertise.
    • 5+ years of hands-on Azure and/or AWS architecture and implementation experience.
    • Extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
    • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns and application modernization.
    • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration platforms.
    • Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep), and automation.
    • Strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, scalability, and high-availability architectures.
    • Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale cloud transformation programs.
    • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

    • AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certifications.
    • Experience with event-streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Event Hubs, or Amazon MSK.
    • Hands-on experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
    • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or AppDynamics.
    • Experience with React, Angular, or modern front-end technologies.
    • Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD), TOGAF, or Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
    • Experience leading globally distributed teams and large-scale transformation programs.
    • Familiarity with AI/ML, Generative AI, and cloud-based data platforms.
